I’ll be out of Hong Kong for a month starting tomorrow morning as I will be going to my hometown of Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
I don’t think I’ll have much access to the internet there so don’t expect anything here for a month and don’t expect me to be on Facebook or MSN either.
By the way, I’ll be stopping over in Amsterdam on the way there and back for a couple of hours.

I finally have one after months of wanting to get one. White 2.16GHz, 1 gig of RAM, 120Gb hard drive, SuperDrive (a.k.a. DVD-burner). I love it and I don’t want to waste time writing about it here and instead want to play with it. I’ll write a review once I’ve installed everything I need. That is, Boot Camp and a bunch of software for both OS X and Windows.

Watched this great movie today. It’s a thriller about the still unsolved Zodiac Killer mystery. Nothing much else to say except that if you haven’t watched it yet, you should. It’s in theaters in Hong Kong now and in the US it’s already on DVD.

That’s right. Yesterday was the 21st and many things happened. The first was that I went back to school after a two-week long hiatus because of exams. Yeah so nothing cool, learned my exam grades, and my GPA (only 3.2 but whatever).
It got a lot more interesting after school though. I had my dentist appointment but had no idea that my dentist would take off my braces. He asked me when I was leaving Hong Kong, I told him the morning of the 30th, and he said, “OK, I’m taking your braces off today.” Yeah so, after a few minutes of bearable pain, my braces were off and I’ll be getting my retainers next week just before I leave. The teeth don’t hurt but it feels better without them (no, really?) because my tongue no longer feels the braces but instead slippery teeth, a feeling I haven’t experienced in over a year.
Then I came back home and realized that the June 2nd SAT Reasoning Test scores were in. Not that great but pretty good for my first try, I guess. Here’s the breakdown: Critical Reading: 600 (I thought it was damn hard, especially because there was an extra experimental section); Math: 630 (pretty much what I expected); Writing: 710 (woot! 9 on essay, not that high but still pretty good). So in total that’s a 1940. My target for October when I take it for the second time is at least 2000, hopefully all the studying over the summer will guarantee this. 4 hours sitting at a desk again…
Oh yeah, by the way, I’m leaving for Ukraine on the morning of the 30th and may have very little access to the internet so don’t expect this site to be updated for a month or so after that date.

I put in an nVIDIA GeForce FX5500 256MB RAM video card in my PC a few months ago and since then my gaming experience has shot up greatly in quality. I can finally play games at my native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and one game that really kicks ass now is Need For Speed: Underground.
Yes, I realize the game is like 4 years old but back when I bought it 4 years ago it still lagged on 800 x 600 resolution and low quality graphics so I was really unsatisfied and didn’t feel like playing the game at the time. But when I looked through my box of computer games a few days ago and decided to try out this title again I was amazed with the results and just how fun the game is when running at max graphics.
Now reviewing the game would be pointless since it’s been out for years and a quick Google search would return a lot of results, therefore I’m just going to leave you with a screenshot I took a few minutes ago while playing. I’m somewhere like 25% done with the game after playing it for 2.5 days.

And of course let me remind you that I’m not gay and I don’t play the game with my keyboard but rather with a PS2 controller hooked up to my PC. I used to have a steering wheel but the drivers only exist for Windows 2000 and older so I had to throw it away but the game pad works just fine and is incomparable to the keyboard.
