Me chilling right before I went to go absailing down a waterfall.
I had school camp in Hong Kong from the 24th until the 28th of October. We went to some places in Sai Kung and some places in Lantau Island. I guess it was an alright camp but nothing special. We did activities like mountain biking, absailing, snorkeling kayaking (lots of it), bouldering, hiking of course, surfing (more like boogie boarding really) and sleeping in tents. Normal camp stuff you would expect in Hong Kong. We went to a rather nice beach in Tai Long Wan (actually the nicest beach I’ve ever been to in Hong Kong) and camped out in tents in Sai Wan. There’s really no point in writing a long entry about the camp like I did last year when I went on camp but you can go see some pictures on Flickr.

We had halloween dress up/activities at school on October 21st and since my blog database was deleted, I am now posting a picture from Halloween (I only have three and this is the best). On the left is Yin Lam dressed up as Snow White, me in the middle as a Native American Indian and on the right, Jay, as I’m not really sure what… the (fake) afro is nice though.
I actually installed Mac OS X on my PC about 3 weeks ago but since I lost my post on how I did it I’ll just write up a short summary here again. Technical information follows, if you don’t get it then it’s not for you.

I returned from camp a couple of days ago and decided to upload some photos to my site. I went to Flickr and “blogged this photo” and it was all fine. Then I went to my site and all the comments were messed up. I later found out I had a comments.MYI error which meant my comments database decided to go FUBAR on me and that there was nothing I could do to restore it. The posts were still all there but the comments attached to them were gone. The last time I had backed up my WordPress database was sometime in early August of this year and I was rather depressed.
Now I’ve managed to also lose all the entries I wrote and all the comments I received since August 3rd (time of my last backup). Oh well, what can you do, shit like this happens. From now on, I’m going to backup my database every week.
Comments now work again and I’ll be posting again. I had written one good entry after August 3rd about online learning and I may still have it somewhere on my computer so I’ll try to post it up again. The 10 comments it had attached to it are gone forever though. Sorry guys.
