I got a bit tired of K2 because that’s the way I am, I need change and I need it often. That is why I changed from K2 to Hemingway today, because I want something different. K2 has been on my site for months and since Michael Heilemann has limited time to work on K2 I decided to try out the Hemingway theme for WordPress which I think looks very attractive. I love simple themes without all that added junk and gazillions of plugins and Hemingway is definitely one of them. You can definitely expect a change sometime in the future with the themes but for now it’s here to stay. How do you like?
EDIT: I switched back to K2 on March 9th because for some reason I still think it’s better. I didn’t really like how Hemingway only shows a very short excerpt from the entry and does not show the images on the front page. Hemingway is still an awesome theme and if I had the time to play around with it and edit it I’d probably still be using it. Sorry about the change back.
The pollution in Hong Kong today was frightening. The sky was gray and there was barely any sun coming through the smog. Not only did I have problems breathing today, I still have a headache from the pollution. I’ve written about the pollution here in Hong Kong some months ago but this is way worse today. But of course the Hong Kong government is too pussy to go up to the Communists in China and tell them to clean up their factories and powerplants. They’d rather let their own citizens die rather than talk to the Chinese government.

I finally got around to watching The Pianist. This is a very sad and emotion-wrecking movie but it is very historically accurate and interesting. There are many disturbing parts in the movie throughout. Roman Polanski, the director, made a really good movie out of an autobiography by Wladyslaw Szpilman. It is basically the story of a Polish Jew trying to survive in Warsaw after he escapes from the ghetto during World War II. The role of Wladyslaw Szpilman is played by Adrien Brody.
I enjoy reading and watching movies about history and the most interesting part of history for me is the Holocaust and Nazi Germany. I have read many books on the topic as well as watched many movies and documentaries. I still feel a little bit depressed by the movie. I recommend you to watch the movie but if you do don’t turn it off after 30 minutes because it’s too disturbing, the story is very good and the movie should be watched to the end.
I only know the first 6 digits of pi but Daniel Temmet can recite, over a few hours the number pi to it’s 22,514’s digit, just from his memory. He was able to recall mathematical and sequential facts with ease after he had a severe seizure. That’s quite something.
Is it just me or is everyone getting more spam in their Gmail accounts? I just deleted 47 (!) spam messages from my spam folder in Gmail which have been collected for only a week or two and I’ve had about 4 spam messages in my inbox in the past week as well. A few months ago I had literally no spam, “Hooray, no spam here!” in either the spam folder or my inbox and now I’m getting tons. I haven’t given my email out to any services lately and most of the spam coming in is advertising products for sexual gratification and software that is supposed to turn my website into a cashcow. It’s just annoying to get into Gmail and see 47 new spam messages in bold there next to “Spam”. Is anyone else experiencing this?
