Oliver Twist (2005)

I went to watch Oliver Twist yesterday and I must say it was better than expected. I was expecting a silly story for kids but was instead met with both great acting skills and awesome directing by the famous Roman Polanski, well know for his direction of “The Pianist”.

The movie is based off of Charles Dickens’ famous novel by the same name. The story takes place in England during Victorian Times. Oliver Twist is an orphon who isn’t happy with his poor life. After going through some bad experiences in the orphanage and as an apprentice, he leaves his small town and heads towards London, almost dying on the way. Upon getting to London he meets a group of kid thieves and joins them. And then the trouble begins. No spoilers today, go watch the movie. I promise it’ll be worth it.

After the movie, I watched Birth with Nicole Kidman and it was a so-so movie in the sense that the plot was weird but the acting was good.

Signing off now, see ya.
