V2

I am currently working on the second version of this site which will see a large redesign, some new features and lots more. I have only just started and have only a few ideas right now but I’ll be working on it whenever I have time. It will be based off of K2. Stay tuned.

Oh yeah, it won’t support Internet Explorer, I don’t have the time, patience and knowledge to fix IE quirks so good browsers only. It will work in IE, just not perfectly.

Beautiful Yet Deadly

These cloud formations (of tornadoes) are just breathtaking. They are supposedly not of Hurricane Katrina. They are real, this is no Photoshop mockup. I did not take these photos and I don’t know who did. They have been doing rounds on the internet and I thought I might as well post them since they look so awesome.

Why Per 100?

You know how when you go to the grocery store to buy something, like a drink, or pickles or muffins or whatever it is you like eating, you look at the Nutrition Facts and it says “per 100mL” or “per 100g” or “per serving” and stuff? You do, right? OK, so get this: you buy yourself this little pie and look at those facts and it says that the little pie is 3 servings. It’s a very small pie and a normal person could eat that whole pie plus dinner. What’s up with that?

Another scenario for ya: on a lot of soda and other carbonated beverages you look at the facts and it says per 100mL, but the can has say 300mL in it. Why not just write per can or per 300mL? I am seriously confused. This type of thing usually happens with American products. Do the people that make these labels think they are geniuses or are they trying to fool people into thinking they’re actually not getting that many calories or fats or what it may be. Or are the people that make these labels just too lazy to make different labels for cans and other foods? Whatever the reason, it’s not very smart.

Can someone explain? Am I eating and drinking too much? I don’t look very fat. Why per 100? Seriously.

I’m not the only one who questions this: check this out.

Daily Websites

Of my life on the internet, I have visited many websites, some great, some not so great, some stupid, some nasty etc. but there are only a few that I visit very often, that is daily. So without further ado, here they are:

Google – to…uh…search, yeah
Gmail – email.
Engadget – geek needs gadget and tech news.
Wikipedia – research (mostly for school)
Binary Bonsai – one of the few blogs I read a lot, mostly to get updates on K2 (the theme running my site) and other design news.
Flickr – for my photos, other’s photos and the forums

And of course my own website. That’s pretty much it really. I visit Apple often also but they don’t get as many updates as the above and stuff. What websites do you visit often? Hey, this could turn into a “baton”.

Steve Jobs

This is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That’s it. No big deal. Just three stories.

The first story is about connecting the dots.
