Batman Begins (2005)

Today I watched Batman Begins in the theater. I usually don’t go to the theater to watch movies but on this occasion I did. I was expecting the movie to be some dumb rosy action movie about an impossible super hero, but this was a movie that I actually liked and recommend to others. This movie shows Bruce Wayne before he becomes Batman and how he goes about becoming Batman. I think the plot was quite good and at some points the action was so intense and interesting that you couldn’t turn away. The first hour or so doesn’t have much action and it introduces you to the life of Bruce Wayne and Gotham City, which is being destroyed. Then, all the action starts and in the end, Batman saves the city and the cool thing at the end is this police officer shows Batman who he has to defeat next: he flips over a card and it’s a Joker. You’ll only know what this means if you’ve watched the previous films.

Anyway, I’m not really a film critic or anything and I am not about to write one of my long, pointless essays but I thought that this movie was quite good. With the cast of Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Morgan Freeman and a lot of other great actors, this will have to be the best Batman movie yet (at least in my opinion).

I also noticed that Rebecca (website) has also written a review of Batman Begins and I share some of her thoughts (more like her whole post):

In short, I thought it was a terrific movie. The villains were menacing, the city haunting, and the hero believably human.

It tells the story of how Bruce Wayne evolved to be more than just a man. The brilliant cast somehow pulls off making a man who runs around dressed like a bat seem plausible. Gotham City was beautiful, in that rotting, crime-infested sort of way.

I gotta get me one of those cars.

Yeah, the Batmobile was cool, so was the Lamborghini shown earlier on.
