My New (Model) Car

Yesterday I got a new model car: 2001 Mini Cooper Red with White Stripes on the hood. I got it as a prize from a stock-trading company in Hong Kong. It was the second prize and 10 lucky winners got it, one of them being me. The first prize was an actual Mini Cooper and only one guy won (so lucky…). I picked it up from their offices and then when I got home I wanted to know how much the price of this model was so I checked. It was made by AUTOart (website). They make really amazing die-cast models which are also very expensive. Well this car would set me off almost US$80 or about $600 here in Hong Kong. Definitely not cheap, my most expensive model yet. Well, it is really detailed, I can tell you that. It even has disc brakes, carpet texture inside and just very authentic overall. I took some pictures of it and they can be find in my Photos page (the Model Car Collection) right here.

Also today, I am still walking around with my twin-block, read yesterday’s post if you don’t know what it is. It still hurts and I try not to take it off except for eating. The cold got better but it still exists. Well not much else has been happening today, so that’s it.

Terrible…

So yesterday I got these like pre-braces apparatus which are called a twin-block. They look like retainers on steroids. They are supposed to move my lower jaw forward. After them, I get the braces put on. Well, yesterday I went to the orthodontist and he put them in and it was instant uncomfortable. He said that it would take about 3 days to get used to them. The good thing is that I can take them off and clean them. The thing with this is that whenever I take them off, my teeth feel out of place but whenever I put them on it hurts for a few minutes. I also talk like a retard but that should go away in a few days. Yesterday, I was drooling and it was just bad.

Add to that a cold with coughing, running nose and mild headaches. This morning I went into the elevator and my ears got all plugged up and I can’t hear a lot of noises well, so that sucks too. Three bad things all wrapped up into one. I have to wear the twin-block thing for 6 months to a year and then I get braces which I were for another year at least. The cold should go away in about a week and the stuffy ears should hopefully be gone in a few hours. Terrible…
